Jung, Tolkien & the Archetypes of Middle Earth

Led by Janis Maxwell PhD.
10 Continuing Education Credits

On Demand

Join us for a unique Jungian series that will immerse you in the powerful works of C.G. Jung and J. R. R. Tolkien. While different in approach, these two giants dedicated their respective paths to the psyche and literature. They offer us tools to help navigate the difficult times in which we live.

Take a journey with Jung and Tolkien in this exciting and timely series. With our current world crisis, these concepts take on more meaning than ever in a world divided with conflict.

Tolkien’s fantastical approach to narrative storytelling could be seen as his own tale of the Individuation Process of a culture as beautifully described in The Lord of the Rings. Both Jung and Tolkien valued mythology as a blueprint for the foundations of living. In this series, we will explore the world of the archetypes within Tolkien’s Middle Earth. We will discuss the archetypal meanings and the value they hold in contemporary culture. Jung and Tolkien’s works offer glimpses of hope in a world seemingly caught in darkness and evil.

Can’t make it live? No problem all webinars will be recorded.
