Greece: Jung, Mythology, and Finding Your Inner Oracle

Greece

May 2-10, 2025
25 Continuing Education Credits

Join a group of world travelers for an epic mytho-poetic journey through Greece!

Dr. Leslee Brown and Jungian analyst Margaret Stienestra will guide you on this wonderful trip to Greece, a land of ancient wonders and vibrant culture. Ancient Greek mythology still plays a huge role in contemporary psychology and culture, helping us bridge the “real” and the “unreal.” Greece, where the ancient world permeates everyday life, offers the perfect location to enter into the physical and psychic space that Carl Jung viewed as a portal into the collective unconscious. Our travels and studies into the realm of hidden possibilities and healing (in the etymological sense of becoming whole) through age-old insights will illuminate what it means to be human and to live well.

Our studies will center around Tiresias, a legendary figure in Greek mythology. He is renowned for his prophetic abilities and unique perspective. He is often depicted as a blind seer, a role that symbolizes his ability to perceive truths beyond the physical realm. Tiresias played a crucial role in several significant myths, including the tragic tale of Oedipus Rex. As the oracle of Thebes, he warned Oedipus of his terrible fate, but his warnings were tragically ignored.

Tiresias's story continues to resonate with modern audiences, as he embodies gender fluidity, the nature of prophecy, and the human condition. His ability to foresee the future, despite his blindness, suggests that true insight can come from unexpected sources. We will follow the mythological footsteps of the myths of Tiresies through ancient Greece which will be mirrored in our own inner journeys.

With Mind Body Passport, your travels become a powerful platform for personal growth and self-discovery. Our carefully curated itineraries combine immersive experiences with thought-provoking seminars, creating a harmonious blend of learning and exploration. The perfect blend of activities!

Margot Estabrook Stienstra, M.I.M., Lic. Phil.

Margot Estabrook Stienstra, M.I.M., Lic. Phil. Is a Jungian psychotherapist trained and practicing in Zürich, Switzerland. She alternates spending time in her homeland of the U.S., nourished by the land, light and sea.

She cares deeply about multi-cultural family, her friends and clients, and how to restore healthy self-sense  and right relationship with a challenging world when so many grew up under emphasis on accommodating and fortifying others at the expense of self-nourishment. This  invites new alignment in the body-mind, through silence and presence, and re-memberance and re-relating within concentric ecosystems. Learning to identify and withdraw our projections and tendencies to marginalize, we may lend healing to the sentient world beyond and inclusive of ourselves.

She looks forward to honoring the spirit of Tiresias with you, learning together playfully and imaginatively as we draw on Grecian nature, and culture, through the expressive arts.
